Residential Care

Becoming a Resident

Caring Hands (Wiltshire) can provide up to four permanent residential placements in our purpose-built care home. All of the rooms in our residential care home are single occupancy with en-suite facilities. Each room is furnished to a high standard overlooking the countryside of Braydon.

There is a communal Garden Room and purpose-built wet Room with disabled facilities, wheelchair accessible, all on the ground level. There is a call system in place, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week.

If you are interested in a permanent placement our management team will complete with you a holistic assessment to ensure that we can meet your individual’s needs. If you wish for the holistic assessment to be completed in the comfort of your own home, please let us know where we can then arrange a visit, or you can come to Caring Hands (Wiltshire) and take the opportunity to look around.

Within the holistic assessment we will ask you to complete a life story which features your life history, preferences likes and dislikes. This provides us with a great insight and guidance in managing your future at Caring Hands (Wiltshire). A 4-week trial will then be undertaken and if both parties are happy after the trial period a residential placement will be offered and a contract agreed for residential care. During this period our team are understanding your preferences, needs, goals and how we can best support your requirements. This information is documented in your own tailormade care plan that is regularly reviewed.

We have found from previous experience that individuals have booked a respite stay to get a feel of the home which can make the individual feel more reassured when transitioning into a permanent placement.

Please note, nursing care is not provided, please see our Statement of Purpose for more information. However, with support from our local GP and community district nurses we can support individuals specific needs if nursing care is required such as palliative care.

Respite Care

We offer a respite room with a pre-bookable service Our respite room is for single occupancy or a couple. Individuals can book in advance for one night, a few weeks or months as we want to support individuals, carers, and their families at home. We find this pre-bookable service has been successful as individuals have expressed, they have felt reassured that respite has been booked for their loved ones if carers or families have events to attend too.

We will complete with you a holistic assessment to ensure that we can meet your individual’s needs. If you wish for the holistic assessment to be completed in the comfort of your own home, please let us know where we can then arrange a visit, or you can come to Caring Hands (Wiltshire) and take the opportunity to look around.
